Here she spent two years practicing movement, collaboration and exploring the great dramatic territories while in LEM exploring the creation and movement of architecture and space.
Madeline joined Clockfire Theatre Company in 2015 having graduated with a Bachelor of Performance from AIM Dramatic Arts in 2014 where she studied theatre-making and producing, with a focus on acting. It was with this company that she inherited her passion for creating theatre that moves.
Art has served as a huge inspiration in her collaboration with different devisors. In February of 2018 Madeline and her peers were invited to perform in ‘Minimal’, an event at The Centre Pompidou. Here she presented a piece evoking inherent cracks in reality through an interpretation of cubism and Picasso’s lines. In January of 2020 she as part of Clockfire Theatre Company was commissioned by the Art Gallery of NSW to create a new piece of theatre for Sydney Festival 2020 for their current major exhibition Japan Supernatural. Night Parade of 100 Goblins responded directly to the artworks and scrolls present in the exhibition which depicts vividly, creatures of an ‘otherworld’ whose shapeshifting abilities allow for phenomenal transformation. Through a myriad of genres including chorus, theatre of gesture, mystere, bouffon and melodrama Clockfire Theatre Company succeeded in creating a contemporary take on ‘Hyakki Yagyo’ the ghostly night parade that once a year loiters concealed, alongside us. In collaboration with Clockfire Theatre Company Madeline has also devised and performed in we, the lost company (The Old 505 Theate) The Natural Conservatorium for Wise Women (Bay 43, The Rocks as part of Sydney Fringe 2019) and The Sun Bather (Merrigong Theatre Company).
Madeline has experience teaching devised theatre, movement and mathematics and
She co-runs the newly established company Clockfire Creative Lab which specialises in dynamic educational programs inspired by the Jacques Lecoq® pedagogy for both students and teachers for which she has facilitated programs at various NSW high-schools, Riverside Theatres Parramatta and Monkey Baa Theatre Company.
